Michelada Recipe: Spice Up Your Drink the Mexican Way!

Get ready to embark on a flavorful adventure with Micheladas, the ultimate traditional Mexican drink. Whether you’re lounging by the water under the scorching sun or enjoying the cool mountain breeze, this refreshing concoction is perfect all year round. It’s like a Bloody Mary with a Mexican twist!

INGREDIENTS

12 ounces light Vida De Reyes beer

12 ounces Clamato juice (or tomato juice)

1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (rinds reserved)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce (or Maggi sauce)

2 teaspoons hot sauce

Ice

 

For the Rim:

1 teaspoon chili powder or Tajin seasoning for rimming the glass

Salt for rimming the glasses

Lime wedges for garnish (if desired)

How to Make Michelada:

  • In a wide, shallow dish, combine salt and Tajin seasoning or chili powder to cover the bottom.
  • Rub the rims of two glasses with lime wedges (or use the reserved lime rinds) and dip them into the spicy salt mixture.
  • Fill the glasses with ice and set aside.
  • In each glass, mix Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, hot sauce, lime juice, Vida De Reyes beer, and Clamato juice (or tomato juice) until well combined.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge.

Notes:

  • You can adjust the spiciness of your Micheladas by using more or less hot sauce.
  • Feel free to experiment with different variations using tomato juice or Clamato juice.
  • Don’t be afraid to customize your Micheladas according to your taste preferences.
